Timothy R. Walker Ph.D. CCC NSRPC, Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Trainer, Consultant

Trained in Contemplative Psychotherapy, Family Systems, and Transactional Analysis, Tim has more than 25 years of experience integrating a contemplative and human-potential approach into counselling/psychotherapy, coaching/consulting, healthcare and education. He has worked with the Nova Scotia Department of Health, taught at Dalhousie University, Acadia University, and the Halifax Counselor Training Institute. For many years, he was on the counselling staff at St. Mary's University, and in private practice at EastWind Health Associates.

In 1996, Dr. Walker founded the EastWind Stress Reduction Clinic Based on the Mindfulness Model developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. In 1999, he developed with Dr. Rob Rutledge of the Nova Scotia Cancer Centre, the Skills for Healing Weekend Retreats, which continue to help people with cancer, and their families, in multiple cities across Canada. More recently, he has taken similar work to healthcare providers as the Skills for Wellness programs.

Over the years in private practice, his approach has evolved into the facilitation of a natural spiritual healing for the whole body/mind/spirit. He practices a number of healing modalities, the principal of these being Buddhist meditation on the Five Wisdom Energies and Integrated Kabbalistic Healing. Both of these approaches are gentle yet powerful healing practices, which integrate the healing power of nondual spirit consciousness into the psychological and social spheres and then into the physical. This fully integrated approach helps to empower people to heal themselves and thus to gradually awaken their fully embodied presence in the experience of everyday life.
